Square Deal!

I have been thinking about something to write all day, and thought I was on to something about my gin-induced dreams last night.  I remembered something about going to my old job in my new suit, but only realizing when I got there that it was the same suit I wore when I was babysitting last week, and that my adorable little charge had drawn all over it with crayons.  (That pic is by Erin Nekervis).

But before I could get my thoughts together, this amazingwork of journalism hit the Interwebs!  Look at it!  It is Victoria Rector’s award winning* profile in The Logan Sqaurist of Logan Square’s greatest three-piece comedy band, Your Pals, Foz the Hook!  Ms. R came out to Cole’s a couple of weeks a go to see our regular show, and I am happy to say it went awesomely awesome!

Anyway, read the article nowRead it!  I’ll wait!

That is Victoria Rector.  Right there!  Right above to these words!

*  The article won Foz the Hook's Putziler Prize for Journalism - 2013.

Eyeballs!

It is usually a sad, sad day when Larry and Patrick are not around for a Wednesday night show at Cole’s

Today is not nearly that sad.  Why?  Because tonight Your Pals FtH will be replaced on Cole’s stage by the legendary Colonel Foz! (Pictured above with President Abraham Lincoln).

Colonel Foz, the great Country and Western cousin of Foz the Hook has recently come out of retirement to help Sean Flannery with The Blackout Diaries.  He will do that this coming Saturday night at the Lincoln Lodge.

But tonight at 9:00 Colonel Foz will play at Cole’s Comedy Open Mic with a new and lovely partner in crime.  You will know her and love her when you meet her, the charming bird.  But here is a nice picture.  I bet you can’t wait.

In other news, I saw Zero Dark Thirty yesterday.  It’s pretty dark, but you have to wait for the blooper reel.  The waterboarding out-takes are hilarious!

Get Blacked Out This Saturday!

After a two-month hiatus The Blackout Diaries  is returning, but it has a new home.  The previous monthly Beat Kitchen mainstay has moved north to The Lincoln Lodge, and has picked up the most awesomely horrible sponsor one can imagine, that pride of Chicago liquors, Malort!

Wait!  Did I say awesomely horrible?  I meant awesomely awesome!  Mmmm mmm.  You can really taste the wormwood!

Blackout Diaries is, as you know, Chicago’s finest catalog of shameful boozy behavior, where real people tell the real stories of things that aught never to have happened.  This coming Saturday night, January 5, at 8:00 PM, you can meet Blackout King, Sean Flannery hosting a host of comics and humans who spill their guts and unburden their spirits to you, the viewing public.

It’s a public humiliation for your benefit.

Colonel Foz will be there with a little something old and a little something new in the way of great old songs of debauch – if he can remember them.

So come out to The Blackout Diaries this Saturday night.

Buy your tickets from this guy.  Buy them now!

Then join us for shots of Malort and dry heaves!
